Chapter 050: Knowing the Place (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0491.  தொடங்கற்க எவ்வினையும் எள்ளற்க முற்றும்
           இடங்கண்ட பின்அல் லது

           Neither initiate nor despise any deed, until
           knowing the place to complete

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Do not initiate any deed without analyzing and understanding 
           the favorable place to complete! Similarly, do not despise thinking that it is easy.

           Do not engage any party without deeply realizing the element required for democracy! 
           Correspondingly, do not disrespect thinking that it is right.

0492.  முரண்சேர்ந்த மொய்ம்பி னவர்க்கும் அரண்சேர்ந்தாம்
           ஆக்கம் பலவுந் தரும்

           Reaching safe-zone yields many benefits,
           even to warriors who added enmity

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The ability to reach the safe place will yield many kinds of 
           benefits, to the strong warriors who even have accumulated the enmity.

           The strategy to oppose at perfect time will create various kinds of changes, to the powerful 
           electors who even have lost their life.

0493.  ஆற்றாரும் ஆற்றி அடுப இடனறிந்து
           போற்றார்கண் போற்றிச் செயின்

           Even weaker gets strength & win, by knowing place
           and confront enemies with protection

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Even the weaker people can get strength and conquer, when the 
           enemies are confronted with proper protection, by knowing the eligible place.

           Even those who do not have authority can have authority and achieve, when the corrupted 
           people are opposed with zealous mind, by accepting a proper leadership.

0494.  எண்ணியார் எண்ணம் இழப்பர் இடனறிந்து
           துன்னியார் துன்னிச் செயின்

           If apt people know right place & do apt
           deeds, enemies lose enmity

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If apt people realize the favorable place and do apt deeds; those 
           who thought to destroy them, will lose their thoughts.

           If virtuous people want the healthy body and practice good habits; the germs inside them, 
           will lose their activity.

0495.  நெடும்புனலுள் வெல்லும் முதலை அடும்புனலின்
           நீங்கின் அதனைப் பிற

           Crocodile win in deep-water; when it
           leaves water, others win it

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: While being in deep water, the crocodile will all the lives; while 
           it comes out of water, the other lives will win the crocodile.

           While being with excess luxury, one will insult all the relationships; when all the luxury are 
           lost, other relationships will insult them.

0496.  கடலோடா கால்வல் நெடுந்தேர் கடலோடும்
           நாவாயும் ஓடா நிலத்து

           Chariot with strong wheels won’t flow in sea; 
           also, ship won’t roll on land

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The huge chariot that has strong wheels, cannot flow in the sea; 
           also, the ship that flow in the sea cannot roll on the land.

           The wrestler with a strong body, cannot bend and do Yoga; also, those who bend and do Yoga 
           cannot do wrestling.

0497.  அஞ்சாமை அல்லால் துணைவேண்டா எஞ்சாமை
           எண்ணி இடத்தால் செயின்

           When done at right place, aiming no pending,
           no support than fearless is required

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: If the deeds are done by predicting the place, with zealous to not 
           keep pending; there is no need of any other support than the support called fearless.

           If the relationships are maintained by sharing the rights, with resolute to not break away; 
           there is no need of any other bond than the bond of affection.

0498.  சிறுபடையான் செல்லிடம் சேரின் உறுபடையான்
           ஊக்கம் அழிந்து விடும்

           Morale of huge army will be destroyed,
           if small army reach proper place

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The mental strength of those who have a huge army will be 
           shattered; if those who have a small army reach the place, where all their skills are exposed.

           The influence of those who have excess money-power will become valueless; if those who 
           are at poverty level, have the zealous to follow all the ethics.

0499.  சிறைநலனும் சீரும் இலரெனினும் மாந்தர்
           உறைநிலத்தோடு ஒட்டல் அரிது

           Though someone don’t have bulwark & fortress,
           it’s rare to attack at their own land

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Despite having no beneficial bulwark and specialized veterans; 
           it is not easy to attack those who are together with people at own land.

           Despite having no facility to gift and robust history; it is not easy to prevent those who travel 
           by following the truth for people's benefit. 

0500.  காலாழ் களரில் நரியடும் கண்ணஞ்சா
           வேலாள் முகத்த களிறு

           When fearless elephant's leg bury in mud,
           even fox can kill it

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Even a fox can kill the male elephant, which is capable of 
           attacking the armed soldier without fear on eyes; when it's leg is buried in mud.

           Even a lie can shatter the solid heart, which embrace the hostile relationships without 
           difference in feelings; when it is stuck in the grasping of ambience.
