Chapter 017: Not having Jealous (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0161.  ஒழுக்காறாக் கொள்க ஒருவன்தன் நெஞ்சத்து
           அழுக்காறு இலாத இயல்பு

           Having no devil-thoughts such as jealous,
           is the morality of virtue

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: One should realize that the state of having no devil
           thoughts such as jealous, at heart, is the morality of virtue.

           A leader should practice to eliminate the unethical factors such as corruption, in
           his/her deeds, as the priority of leadership.

0162.  விழுப்பேற்றின் அஃதொப்பது இல்லையார் மாட்டும்
           அழுக்காற்றின் அன்மை பெறின்

           Nothing can match the state of staying
           away from envying others

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: There is no compliment to match the state of staying
           away from the devil mind of envying the possessions of others.

           There is no humane/religion that is on par to the initiative of freeing from the
           unethical deeds, which dishonor the belief of others.

0163.  அறனாக்கம் வேண்டாதான் என்பான் பிறனாக்கம்
           பேணாது அழுக்கறுப் பான்

           Who don’t want wealth through ethics,
           will envy others’ wealth

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who do not want the wealth by practicing ethics,
           will not feel happy about the wealth of others but envy.

           Those who do not realize the virtues of following humane, will not appreciate the
           virtue of others but gossip.

0164.  அழுக்காற்றின் அல்லவை செய்யார் இழுக்காற்றின் 
           ஏதம் படுபாக்கு அறிந்து

           Who realized the outcome of devil-thoughts,
           won't jealous & do unethical

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who well realized the outcome of devil thoughts,
           will not have jealous and do unethical deeds.

           Those who deeply experienced the peace induced by meditation, will not become
           emotional and speak substandard words.

0165.  அழுக்காறு உடையார்க்கு அதுசாலும் ஒன்னார்
           வழுக்காயும் கேடீன் பது

           Jealous is enough; it provide the evils,
           when enemies fail to

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: For those who have jealous, it is just enough; that
           jealous will provide the evils, which their enemies failed to do.

           For those who gossip, it is just enough; that gossip will destroy the peace, which
           others forgot to destroy.

0166.  கொடுப்பது அழுக்கறுப்பான் சுற்றம் உடுப்பதூஉம்
           உண்பதூஉம் இன்றிக் கெடும்

           Dependents of those envy on what others get,
           also suffer without clothes/food

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Not just those who envy on what others are given, but
           their dependents will also suffer without clothes and food.

(Likewise...)

           Not just those who gossip the best of others; but the participants in the gossip will
           also be troubled without sleep and satisfaction.

0167.  அவ்வித்து அழுக்காறு உடையானைச் செய்யவள்
           தவ்வையைக் காட்டி விடும்

           “Goddess of Wealth” will leave jealous people,
           and connect to “Goddess of Poverty”

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The "Goddess of Wealth" will dislike the people those
           are jealous on others, and connect them to her elder sister "Goddess of Poverty".

           The humane will ignore the people those criticize the belief of others, and leave the
           origin of mankind, i.e. brutality in them.

0168.  அழுக்காறு எனஒரு பாவி திருச்செற்றுத் 
           தீயுழி உய்த்து விடும்

           Jealous - the peerless indiscipline, destroys
           wealth and lead to hell

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The peerless indiscipline called jealous will destroy all
           the wealth; additionally, it will lead the people who possess it to hell.

           The improper evil habit called "waste of time", will hide all the talents; besides, it will
           downgrade the life of those who does it.

0169.  அவ்விய நெஞ்சத்தான் ஆக்கமும் செவ்வியான் 
           கேடும் நினைக்கப் படும்

           Growth of envious & attrition of disciplined 
           - both will have inspection

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Growth of envious people and attrition of disciplined
           people - both will be subjected to an inspection.

(Likewise...)

           Success of corrupted politicians and failure of uncorrupted & honest politicians - both
           will undergo a review.

0170.  அழுக்கற்று அகன்றாரும் இல்லை அஃதுஇல்லார் 
           பெருக்கத்தில் தீர்ந்தாரும் இல்

           Jealous people never become toff; non-jealous
           people never fail to

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: There is no one who become toff with jealous; likewise,
           non-jealous people never fail to become so.

           There is no one who become achiever with laziness; similarly, people who prevented
           laziness never err to achieve it.
