Vizhiyappan's Commentary: As the earth bear the people who excavate; it is
characteristic to forgive the people who contempt us through devil words.

people who spoil our reputation by gossips.

           மறத்தல் அதனினும் நன்று

           பொறுத்தாரைப் பொன்போற் பொதிந்து

Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The smart people do not bother those who impatiently
punish others' mistakes; will preserve the forbearing persons as gold.

           பொன்றுந் துணையும் புகழ்

           forbearing gives permanent reputation

Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who punish the mistakes of others, will have a
day of happiness; whereas, those who forbear them, will have reputation until the
           end of universe.
(Likewise...)

           others do unacceptable things

Vizhiyappan's Commentary: It is better to forbear and not do unethical things, even
when we are hurt by the unacceptable things done by others.

           தகுதியான் வென்று விடல்

           should win with forbearance

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Some people do evil, just because they have abundant;
we should win such minds with our quality of forbearance.

others, are sacred like the monks who have eliminated all desires.
(Likewise...)
Those who excuse the countless transgressions by relatives, are strong hearted like
           those who controlled five senses.

           இன்னாச்சொல் நோற்பாரின் பின்

           to who forbear "evil-words"

Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who do penance without eating anything, are
only placed next to those who forbear the evil-words of others.
(Likewise...)
Those who lead life by denying unethical things, are only praised next to those who
pardon the inhuman acts by others.
