Chapter 010: Speaking Appealing Words (Vizhiyappan's Translation)

0091.  இன்சொலால் ஈரம் அளைஇப் படிறுஇலவாம்
           செம்பொருள் கண்டார்வாய்ச் சொல்

           Words from ethical persons will be
           kind and guileless

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The speech by persons who possess ethics, will be a
           sweet language with kind and guileless words.

           The actions initiated by people who practice humane, will have social responsibility
           with ethical  and selfless thoughts.

0092.  அகன்அமர்ந்து ஈதலின் நன்றே முகன்அமர்ந்து
           இன்சொலன் ஆகப் பெறின்

           Speaking kind with smile is better
           than donating with grace

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: It is much better to be kind spoken with a smiling face,
           rather than donating with gracious heart.

           It is very special to be a honest person by realizing the ethics, rather than becoming
           rich through corruption.

0093.  முகத்தான் அமர்ந்து இனிதுநோக்கி அகத்தானாம்
           இன்சொ லினதே அறம்

           Speaking kind with smiling face
           is called ethics

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Receiving others with a smiling face and speaking kind
           words from the bottom of heart, is called ethics.

           Protecting public by realizing the responsibility and ruling ethically by following the
           truth, is called reign.

0094.  துன்புறூஉம் துவ்வாமை இல்லாகும் யார்மாட்டும் 
           இன்புறூஉம் இன்சொ லவர்க்கு

           Speaking kind to increase others' happiness,
           will eliminate the hatred

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Those who speak kind and increase others' happiness,
           will not have hatred that increase their own distress.

           Those who possess ethics and intend to enhance others' life, will not have jealous
           that deteriorate their own pleasure.

0095.  பணிவுடையன் இன்சொலன் ஆதல் ஒருவற்கு
           அணியல்ல மற்றுப் பிற

           Being humility & speaking kind can only
           adorn the humans

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Being submissive and speaking with kind are the only
           ornaments those can adorn the human; nothing else.

           Making income and maintaining the family are the only factors those can standardize
           the parents; nothing else.

0096.  அல்லவை தேய அறம்பெருகும் நல்லவை
           நாடி இனிய சொலின்

           Practicing good & speaking kind will decrease
           evil and increase goodness

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Practicing the good and speaking with kind, will
           decrease the evil and increase the goodness.

            Realizing and firmly pursuing the strengthening factors, will eliminate the weakness
           and enhance the strength.

0097.  நயன்ஈன்று நன்றி பயக்கும் பயன்ஈன்று
           பண்பின் தலைப்பிரியாச் சொல்

           Words, determined to benefit others, will
           yield good & establish ethics

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The determined words, undeviated from the intention of
           benefiting  others; will yield good deeds and establish the ethics.

           The assured initiatives, undeviated from the zealous of advancing the life of others;
           will multiply the humane and strengthen the society.

0098.  சிறுமையுவு நீங்கிய இன்சொல் மறுமையும்
           இம்மையும் இன்பம் தரும்

           Eliminating immaturity & speaking kind, will benefit
           current and future births

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: The ability to speak with kind, by eliminating the factors
           of immaturity, will benefit not just the current birth but the future ones as well.

           The ability to rule with integrity, by subtracting the factors of enmity, will protect the
           democracy not just in the current period but in the future as well.

0099.  இன்சொல் இனிதீன்றல் காண்பான் எவன்கொலோ
           வன்சொல் வழங்கு வது

           Why those experienced the goodness of
           kind words, speak harsh?

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: For what benefit, those who have experienced the good
           benefits of kind words, could speak the brutal words?

           For what reputation, those who have realized the immortal fame of righteous reign,
           could provide an unethical reign?

0100.  இனிய உளவாக இன்னாத கூறல்
           கனிஇருப்பக் காய்கவர்ந் தற்று

           Speaking evil while good exits, is like
           eating unripe while ripe exists

           Vizhiyappan's Commentary: Speaking evil while there are many words, which yield
           the goodness, is like eating unripe while there exists ripe ones.

           Traveling in unethical path while there are many ethical paths, which advance the
           life, is like sighting the other women while the wife is together.
